Join us in shaping and maturing our Enterprise Risk Management program. 


We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to fill a vacancy for the position of Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Reporting to the Director of ERM, this position serves as the architect of the department’s operational delivery and cross-functional coordination, supporting the organization in setting and annually refreshing its strategy and business plan. The Manager integrates risk, assurance, and resilience activities into a cohesive work plan that advances strategic objectives. In this capacity, the Manager will oversee execution and provide insightful reporting on performance, governance, and risk to drive informed decision-making.

What You Will Do

 

Strategic Governance & Reporting

  • Strategy Planning & Execution Oversight: Manage the strategy process, including execution oversight and annual refresh of the business plan.
  • Executive & Board Reporting: Develop integrated reporting packages for executive leadership and the Board, providing insights into strategy, governance, and enterprise risk.
  • Strategic Alignment: Monitor the progress and risk profiles of key strategic initiatives to ensure the Company's long-term objectives are advancing.

 

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

  • ERM Framework: Implement and evolve the ERM Framework to ensure consistent risk management practices across all business units.
  • Policy & Standards: Establish and review risk policies, standards, and training programs to sustain a risk-aware culture.
  • Risk Mitigation & Monitoring: Collaborate with leadership to develop mitigation plans, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and facilitate risk event reporting.

 

Internal Assurance & Audit

  • Internal Assurance Program: Design and execute the internal assurance and control testing program to assess the effectiveness of the internal control system.
  • Internal Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Internal Audit, monitoring plan progress and supporting management remediation.
  • Advisory Services: Provide guidance to management on process design and control enhancements to address gaps.

 

Operational Resilience & Specialized Support

  • Continuous Improvement: Design and execute a continuous improvement program to identify operational efficiency opportunities.
  • Business Continuity: Manage the annual business continuity planning cycle, including recovery exercises and lessons learned.
  • Insurance & Claims Management: Oversee annual insurance renewals and manage complex claims with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Legal & Privacy Support (occasional): Support privacy matters, Freedom of Information requests, and legal workflows.

 

Safety 

  • Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, the IHSA EUSR rulebook and London Hydro work practices. Report all injuries and near misses immediately. Perform all activities in a manner that protects the health and safety of yourself and others. Wear all personal protective equipment as required. Understand and comply with London Hydro Health and Safety policies.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, PLUS additional specialized training in a related area, is considered an asset.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant, progressive experience in strategy, risk, or governance environments.
  • Certification or designation (CPA, CRM, PMP, CIA, Lean) is considered an asset; Professional development in ERM is encouraged. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to independently adapt content, style, and tone for the intended internal and/or external audience.  
  • Ability and initiative to work independently and to be proactive.
  • Strong people leadership, supervisory, and coaching skills. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and collaborative cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to accuracy. 
  • Strong judgement and attention to detail. Demonstrates a collaborative and results-driven approach.
  • Ability to solve problems in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario electricity distribution industry is considered an asset.
  • Position necessitates a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, confidentiality and integrity.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Driver’s License Class G (a driver's license and an ability to drive is required in order to discharge the essential duties of the position).
