Step into a rewarding opportunity with this vacancy for a Corporate Communications Assistant, where your creativity and organizational skills will help support how our organization connects, communicates, and engages. Reporting to the Program Manager, Marketing & Corporate Communications, you’ll help drive impactful communication and marketing initiatives. 

 

From crafting and sharing content to coordinating events, monitoring performance data, and supporting stakeholder engagement, no two days will be the same. You’ll help deliver polished, professional communications that reflect our brand and values. What You Will Do

 

Content Creation & Distribution

  • Coordinate the printing of corporate communication materials with local printers.
  • Update content as directed on internal and external corporate websites and engagement boards in collaboration with the business.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of social and traditional media (including but not limited to newsletters and social media posts).
  • Administers the intake, tracking, and distribution of customer emails to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up across the organization.
  • Contribute to the drafting, proofreading, and formatting of materials such as briefings, reports, presentations, and press releases.
  • Assist in the creation and submission of corporate awards submissions.

 

Data, Information and Reporting

  • Assist with research to determine the demographics for programs, services, and corporate communication pieces.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on social media discussions, media opportunities, media exposure and brand interactions.

 

Stakeholder Support, Event Coordination & Community Engagement

  • Coordinate workshops and events for local organizations and groups.
  • Participate and assist with the planning of corporate and community events.

 

General Support

  • Manage the maintenance and inventory levels of the corporate promotional materials stock. 
  • Coordinate and organize the merchandise stockroom.
  • Provide administrative and communications support to ensure an organized, professional, and responsive Communications & Marketing department. 
  • Greet and assist visitors, coordinate meetings, maintain records and communication files, and support onboarding and internal messaging. 
  • Track departmental initiatives, expenses, supplies and invoices.
  • Handles confidential matters with discretion.
  • Perform other duties related to the above job purpose.

 

Crisis Management

  • Participate in the organization’s crisis management strategy activities.
  • Perform other duties related to the above job purpose.

What You Will Bring

  • A graduate of a Community College diploma program requiring more than two years to obtain PLUS additional specialized training in a related area.
  • Proficient use of design software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with website maintenance. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite. 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as strong oral communication abilities. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Creative and customer-focus mindset.
  • Position necessitates a high degree of tact, confidentiality, integrity, ability and initiative to work independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License.
